Youth-LEAD (Learning and Empowering through Agriculture to Promote Development)

The Youth-LEAD Agricultural Ambassadors program is a youth-led initiative hosted by Golden Organic Farms in partnership with the StAR Lab at UNC. It aims to empower young leaders from Edgecombe County, NC, by offering opportunities in sustainable agriculture, STEM learning, leadership development, and community service. Using culturally-relevant conceptual and theoretical frameworks, the Strengths, Assets, and Resilience (StAR) Research Lab explores the ways in which families, schools, and communities influence positive development among African American adolescents and youth.
